I Want The Top Of My Ear Done But Does It Hurt?

Im 13 and want the top of my ear done. Plenty of my mates have got it done and they say that the bottom ears hurt more. Im confused! Should I have it done?

Not really, but it will hurt quite a while after that if you lay on your side with the piercing.

I was about 6 or 7 when I had mine done and that was at the bottom. It did not hurt one bit. At the top it would hurt lots!

It depends on your pain tolerence. Your friends can't really tell you what would hurt more on you. Have it done. Only you can tell if it hurt more than other ones.

Of course it's going to hurt. It's a foreign object being projected through your skin. Buuuuutt.... it happens so fast, you really don't feel it. I've had mine done both professionally, and done it myself (when I was like 12), and it's not that bad. In fact, I've had my lip pierced and that wasn't too painful either.

When I had mine it actually didn't hurt much at all, I think everything happened soo fast that I didnt have time to think about it then lol and the piercer was talking to me while he was doing it.

About 1 hour before you go take some pain killers (tylenol or advil) it will help ease the pain (if you have any) All I can say is that at the moment he does it (I recommend the needle) you will feel a little pinch and you don't really get pain untill afterwards it gets a little sore, but the pain killers help.

It's not bad as people make it seem, I even had my nose pierced and the ear was nothing = )

mine hurt a lot. i got the left one done with a gun and i had to take it out 5 months later b/c it wouldn't heal. got the right one done about 5 years ago with needle and it hurts, hell yeah. for me it was worse than my tongue piercing and any tattoo i've had. i'm a slow healer so as late as last year if i got hair product around it, it would get sore. ask them to pierce with 16 or 18 gauge instead of the normal 14. that'll make a difference. but Spaz is right. only you will be able to determine the pain level. for you it may not be that bad.

It hurts, but you will survive. Get it done with a needle and not a gun. Piercing guns are dangerous on the cartilage, or anywhere besides the ear lobes.

Go to a professional piercer. You will need parental consent.

PS - I got mine done when I was 12, and it wasn't too bad.
